Membership in Fair Shares is a commitment to the farmers so they can have the security of knowing what we ask them to grow will be sold. We're sharing their risk and their bounty, and we're encouraging more farmers to grow food (vegetables), instead of commodity (corn, soy).

Membership is on an annual basis because we commit to purchasing a guaranteed amount of product from each of our farmers, and would like to be able to pay them up front. Annual membership costs include 47 weekly shares of local food delivered to a convenient location near your work or home, plus tips and recipes, and access to a wealth of information on our website.

We do not offer vegetarian, half or otherwise customized shares at this time. Check the Forum to find others in your area who would like to work out a method to share a subscription.

The program started April 23rd. For any weeks you missed, you will be issued a $50 credit which you may use for any items we have in stock, or you may order items from our list (we're working on getting that updated and online).

Fees and payment plans: *Note--we must add 4.641% sales tax. First payments for subscription fees are due upon joining (NOW), with $50 membership fee.
One-time payment: $2459.06 ($50 per weekly share + 4.641% sales tax x 47 weeks), due now.

Two payments: $1234.70 each ($50.21 per weekly share + 4.641% sales tax x 47 weeks / 2) due the first of the month: March (now, upon joining) and September.

Four payments: $620.55 each ($50.47 per weekly share + 4.641% sales tax x 47 weeks / 4), due the first of the month: March (now, upon joining), June, September, December.

Six payments: $415.42 each ($50.68 per weekly share + 4.641% sales tax x 47 weeks / 6), due the first of the month: March, May (note that the second payment is due now; we will extend the due date to May 15th for those joining After April 28th), July, September, November, January '09.

A $50 one-time, non-refundable joining fee is due along with your first payment. Submit the online application before making your payment. Please note, you must have a user account at fairshares.org. (Please register a user name), then fill out the online membership form.

Complete and print out the membership form and mail it along with your joining fee of $50.00 PLUS your first subscription payment (choose the plan that suits you above) if you would like to pay by check or money order. Please send your first payment along with the joining fee. See mailing info below, or you may pay via credit card on PayPal.

You will receive reminders of the due dates, and our whole system works on your ability to make your payments in a timely manner.

As a member benefit you will be able to add extras to your weekly share by ordering from our website (eventually), or choosing any available items at the pickup sites. Payment for additional items will be billed at the end of each month, and may be made online via PayPal, or by check mailed to the address above.
