Summer's Almost Gone

Summer's not really almost gone--I'm sure the relentless heat will seem to go on indefinitely, but one of my favorite things about summer is nearing the end of it's high season: Peaches. WHAAAAT? NOOOOOOoooooo! 

I know, bummer. They've been so amazingly good this year. When Roy Jacobs of Jacob's Orchard told me this might be the final week to get peaches, I ordered enough to take us through next week. When he delivered, he said we should be able to get more for next week, so I'll plan to get enough next week to get us through the following week.

If you want to order a box to process and freeze for the wintertime blues, email sara@fairshares.org by Monday morning. We can get peach seconds for $25/half bushel box, or firsts for $34/half bushel box. We should have plenty of peach seconds for purchase in smaller amounts too.
